In order to help prevent accidents and diseases in the workplace, World Occupational Safety Day is celebrated worldwide on April 28. This awareness-raising campaign is designed to draw public attention to problems in the field of occupational safety and health and to the increase in the number of injuries, diseases and deaths related to work.
On April 23, 2024 at Al-Farabi Kazakh National University a round table dedicated to the “World Labor Protection Day” was held. The theme of the round table in 2024 is “The impact of climate change on occupational safety and health.” The event was attended by teachers and students, chief specialists in the field of occupational safety of industrial enterprises, as well as special guests from Nukus, Canada, Turkey in an online format. The event is organized by the head of the pedagogical practice Kozhakhan A. K., 1st year undergraduates of the specialty “7M11201- Environmental protection and life safety” Berikbek Makpal, Serik Zarina, Baktybai Rahat, Yesenov Kulet, Uskinbayev Yerkin, Te Ekaterina, Izdibayev Aidos.
The round table was dedicated to the 90th anniversary of the Al-Farabi Kazakh National University.
The foreign guests talked about safety issues and labor protection procedures at production facilities.
The organizers of the event have prepared contests to evaluate the theoretical knowledge of the participating students on “Occupational safety”. The winners were awarded certificates “International Labor Protection Day” and caps with the university’s logo. The guests were presented with letters of thanks and special gifts with the logos of the university. After the completion of the official program, the guests and students were invited to a festive buffet, where they discussed the prospects for further cooperation.
During the round table, the coordinator of KazFoodProducts LLP, Begimbetov Timur Askhatovich, proposed to conclude a memorandum with the university in order for students to undergo an internship.
Deputy Director for Scientific Work of the D. A. Kunaev Institute of Mining Shabelnikov Evgeny Alekseevich, Deputy Director for Academic Affairs of the Nukus Mining Institute at Navoi State Mining and Technological University, Candidate of Technical Sciences Zhumamuratov Daniyar Kalbaevich and coordinator of KazFoodProducts Begimbetov Timur Askhatovich signed an agreement with the scientific teachers of the department on the development of scientific projects.
