Opening of the III International Winter School within the framework of the UNESCO International Day of Knowledge
On February 26, 2024, the III International Winter School on the theme “Education for Sustainable Development: innovative models” was launched. The event was organized by the UNESCO Department of Sustainable Development together with the UNESCO Department of Journalism and Communication.
The winter school was opened by L.K. Yerkinbayeva, Member of the Board, Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University, who stressed the importance of maintaining sustainable development goals and promoting them among the public. Sergey Karpov, specialist of the Department of Communication and Information of the UNESCO Cluster Office in Almaty, T.M. Kopbayev, Dean of the Faculty of Journalism, and A.A. Rysmagambetova, Deputy Dean of Geography of Natural Resources Management, as well as representatives of invited organizations: Bereke Bank, Foundation of Turkic-speaking Journalists, etc. The President of the Association of Eurasian Cultural and Sports Cooperation, Ahmet Tyuzyun, congratulated his colleagues on the event in a remote format from Turkey.
On the first day of the Winter School, master classes were held by Expert of the Public Chamber of the Mazhilis of the Parliament Skakova A., General Manager of the External Communications Service of Kazakhstan Sustainability Fund JSC (KFUS) Olzhai A., Professor of the Department of Cartography and Geoinformatics Koshim A., Coordinator of the Central Asian Climate Information Portal Kauazov A. and other specialists.
