SUSTAINABLE LIFESTYLE FESTIVAL: LEARNING TO LIVE BETTER AND EASIER
June 13-14, 2023 teachers of the UNESCO Department on Sustainable Development: Deputy Head Dean of NID and MS, Acting Associate Professor Rysmagambetova A.A., Deputy Head of the Department of NID and MS Zubova O.A. and senior lecturer Tanabekova G.B. took part in the festival on the topic: “Sustainable Lifestyle Festival: Learning to live better and easier”, which was organized by the Kazakh-German University and UNEP.
Festival goals:
– Launch of a Network of Sustainable Lifestyle Universities in the region.
– Promote South-South cooperation in the field of sustainable lifestyle, exchange of best practices and lessons learned between universities in the Asia-Pacific region, Latin America and the Caribbean, as well as Central Asia.
– To present the progress of the pilot project in Central Asia with recommendations for improving the curriculum, research and infrastructure through the prism of a sustainable lifestyle.
– To discuss the Action Plan of the Universities of Central Asia until 2025 on the introduction of a sustainable lifestyle on campuses.
The festival was attended by representatives of Central Asian universities and foreign experts, senior/postgraduate students, Ministries of Education of five Central Asian countries, the private sector, representatives of government agencies and international organizations.
During the festival, participants exchanged information about the achievements and current situation of universities. The event was aimed at formalizing the interaction of Central Asian universities in the network of universities of sustainable lifestyle with the official launch during the festival. New opportunities for joint cooperation in the development of a network of universities in Central Asia were discussed and agreed upon.
