OPEN DIALOGUE FOR SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT WITHIN A DECADE OF ACTION AND 30 YEARS OF INDEPENDENCE OF KAZAKHSTAN DEDICATED TO WORLD ENVIRONMENTAL DAY

 

On June 7, 2021, a round table dedicated to World Environment Day was held, where the following topics were discussed: 1) “The impact of the environment on the well-being and health of children”; 2) “Restoration of the ecosystem of Kazakhstan”; 3) “The impact of environmental changes on the habitat and living conditions of domestic and wild animals.” The organizers of the event are the Institute for Sustainable Development. Ban Ki-moon under al-Farabi KazNU with the support of the UN Information Office in Kazakhstan, UNESCO Chair for Sustainable Development of the Faculty of Geography and Environmental Management. The head of the UN Environment Program for Central Asia Kurmanova Aidai Erkinovna, Ombudsman for the Rights of the Child in the Republic of Kazakhstan Aruzhan Sain, Representative of the UN Department of Global Communications in Kazakhstan Vlastimil Samek, as well as representatives of the department of the state institution “Entrepreneurship and Investment Department of Almaty , Ministry of Ecology, Geology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Kazakhstan. Young scientists also took an active part in the open dialogue, in particular, a 3-year doctoral student of the specialty “Ecology” of the UNESCO Chair for Sustainable Development Kantarbayev Sanzhar with a report: “Features of the ecology of the brown bear (Ursus arctos Linnaeus, 1758) in Kazakhstan”.
