Relevance of the project

Astana initiative “Green Bridge” was launched by Kazakhstan and endorsed by the Rio +20 UN Conference on Sustainable Development in 2012, where the Kazakh National University. Al-Farabi organized section of the “Green Bridge across the generations.“

Goal – the development partnership between the countries of Europe, Asia and the Pacific to develop plans for transition from traditional economic models to the concepts of “green” growth.

Key areas of the Partnership Program:
a) Protection of water , mining and other ecosystems and increasing eco-efficiency of use of natural resources;
b) Sustainable energy , its availability and efficiency;
c) Food security and sustainable agriculture;
d) Sustainable urban infrastructure and transport;
e) Adaptation to climate change and a willingness to natural disasters .

Project Objectives

}  training of highly qualified specialists : Masters and PhD students in the field of IPM;

}  training of highly qualified specialists: Masters and PhD students in the field of IPM;

}  development of educational programs for master’s and doctoral studies in accordance with the principles of the Bologna Process;

}  maintaining cooperation Kazakhstani universities with professional regulatory organizations and businesses in the IPM.
