The Universidade Católica de Brasília (Catholic University of Brasília, abbreviated as UCB) is a private, non-profit, Catholic university located in Brasília, the federal capital of Brazil. It is maintained by the Catholic Archdiocese of Brasília.
The Catholic University of Brasilia is a philanthropic institution, Catholic, higher education and private Brazilian, located in Wansbeck, the Federal District and campuses in the cities of Brasilia and Wansbeck. It is administered by UBEC – Brasiliense Union of Education and Culture, an association founded in 1972. Founded in 1974, the Catholic Faculty of Humanities (FCCH) was the first teaching unit offering three courses: Economics, Business and Education Over the years, the College was organized into a structure of teaching and values whose base became increasingly solid, allowing the installation of the Catholic Integrated College of Brasilia. Fifteen years later, the Catholic was recognized by the Ministry of Education as University, keeping in essence promoting knowledge without neglecting the spirituality based on Christian ethics. Today, affectionately known as “Catholic” or just UCB, the Catholic University of Brasilia offers 37 undergraduate classroom courses, 10 master’s programs and five doctorates. With own resources or from external financiers, has 100 research projects involving undergraduate students and graduate students and more than 50 outreach projects. UCB offers its 22,000 students the best facilities and structures. Also offers teaching EAD with poles scattered in 27 states and other countries, such as Japan and Angola.
